Ivy on Mobile: No App, No Download, No Fuss
Ivy runs straight from your phone's browser. Open a session on the train, at the pub, or on the sofa, and pick up exactly where you left off.
How mobile play works at Ivy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
We built Ivy's site to run in a browser tab rather than a downloaded app, because that's how most of our UK players actually want to play: quickly, on whatever device is in their hand, without using up storage space or waiting for updates.
Why we skip the app store
App store casino listings are restricted in a lot of regions, and the approval process for gambling apps can take months and still leave you with an outdated build. We'd rather push improvements to our site the moment they're ready, so every player sees the same version at the same time. There's nothing to install from an app store, nothing sitting on your phone using up gigabytes, and nothing to uninstall later if you fancy a break.
Instead, Ivy is a responsive web platform. Open your phone's browser, go to our address, log in, and the entire site, lobby, cashier and account pages reshape themselves to fit your screen. The same account, balance and game history you use on a laptop at home carries straight over to your phone on the bus.
Device and browser compatibility
Ivy is built to work across the devices UK players actually carry. That means current iPhones running Safari, Android handsets running Chrome, and tablets from either ecosystem. We also support Samsung Internet and Firefox for Android, and desktop browsers including Edge and Chrome for anyone who prefers a bigger screen at home.
| Device type | Recommended browser | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone / iPad | Safari (latest) | Smoothest performance, supports Add to Home Screen |
| Android phone / tablet | Chrome (latest) | Full feature support including live dealer tables |
| Android phone / tablet | Samsung Internet | Fully supported, minor layout differences |
| Windows / Mac laptop | Chrome, Edge, Firefox | Best for larger live tables and multi-tab play |
| Older devices (4-5 years+) | Any current browser | Works, but live dealer streams may run at lower quality |
There's no minimum spec sheet to check against, no APK to sideload, and no need to free up storage before you play. If your browser is reasonably current, our lobby will load and our games will run.
Session speed and why it matters
A lot of mobile casino play happens in short windows: a coffee break, a wait at the bus stop, ten minutes before the match kicks off. We've optimised Ivy's mobile build so the lobby loads fast and game screens launch without long buffering pauses, even on a standard 4G connection. Slots from Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw Gaming, Push Gaming, Nolimit City, Relax Gaming and Play'n GO are all built with mobile-first HTML5 engines, so spins register instantly and animations don't stutter on mid-range handsets.
Live dealer tables from Evolution Gaming are naturally more data-ivm8ae, since you're streaming a real dealer in real time. On wifi or strong 4G/5G, tables load within a few seconds and run smoothly. On a weak signal, the stream will automatically drop its bitrate rather than freeze outright, so you keep your seat at the table even if picture quality dips briefly.
Adding Ivy to your home screen
You don't need an app icon to get an app-like shortcut. Both iOS and Android let you pin a website to your home screen, and it behaves almost exactly like a native app from that point on: one tap opens Ivy directly, full screen, without typing a web address.
- On iPhone or iPad: open Ivy in Safari, tap the Share icon at the bottom of the screen, then choose 'Add to Home Screen' and confirm the name.
- On Android with Chrome: open Ivy, tap the three-dot menu in the top right, select 'Add to Home screen' or 'Install app', then confirm.
- On Samsung Internet: open Ivy, tap the menu icon, choose 'Add page to', then select 'Home screen'.
- Once added, the Ivy icon sits on your home screen like any other app and opens straight into your logged-in session (subject to your device's own lock screen security).
This shortcut doesn't download anything extra to your phone. It's a bookmark with a nicer icon and a full-screen view, so it takes up negligible storage and updates itself automatically whenever we update the site. No app store rating to check, no patch notes to read.
Staying logged in safely
Browser-based play means your session security depends partly on your device, not just on us. We recommend using your phone's own passcode, Face ID or fingerprint lock, especially if you've chosen to stay logged in to Ivy between sessions. If you're playing on a shared or public device, always log out manually from your account menu rather than just closing the tab.
Deposits and withdrawals work exactly the same on mobile as on desktop. Visa and Mastercard payments run through the same secure checkout, and crypto payments (Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT) work well on mobile since most players already have a wallet app installed, letting you copy a deposit address or scan a QR code in a couple of taps.
Data usage and connection tips
Slots use relatively little mobile data per session, similar to browsing a few web pages. Live dealer tables use noticeably more because of the video stream, closer to watching a short video clip continuously. If you're on a limited mobile data plan, it's worth sticking to slots and table games away from wifi, and saving live dealer sessions for when you're connected to a router.
- Keep your browser updated to the latest version for the best performance and security.
- Close unused browser tabs before launching a live table to free up memory.
- If a game loads slowly, try refreshing the page once rather than restarting the whole browser.
- Use wifi for extended live dealer sessions where possible to avoid eating into a mobile data allowance.

How mobile play works at Ivy
Do I need to download an app to play Ivy on my phone?
No. Ivy runs entirely in your phone's browser. There's nothing to download from an app store. Just open your browser, go to our site, log in and play.
Which phones and browsers work best with Ivy?
Current iPhones on Safari and Android phones on Chrome give the smoothest experience. Samsung Internet and Firefox for Android are also fully supported. Keeping your browser updated helps performance across the board.
How do I add Ivy to my home screen?
On iPhone, open Ivy in Safari, tap Share, then 'Add to Home Screen'. On Android with Chrome, tap the three-dot menu and choose 'Add to Home screen' or 'Install app'. The icon then opens Ivy full screen with one tap.
Will live dealer tables work on mobile data?
Yes, though they use more data than slots since they stream real video. On a weak signal, quality drops automatically rather than freezing, so you stay connected to the table. Wifi gives the best picture quality.
Is my account safe when I stay logged in on my phone?
We recommend using your device's passcode, Face ID or fingerprint lock if you stay logged in between sessions, and logging out manually on any shared or public device.
